A mixed week of results started with the Ladies of Thame Bowls Club travelling to South Oxford for their first Triples match of the season where they comfortably won by 60 clear shots winning on all 4 Rinks. Top Rink was skipped by Maxine Plested with Maureen Giles and Shirley Foster winning by 34 shots to 4.
Thame Men lost their first League Match at Witney Mills last week losing on all 4 Rinks. A below strength Thame team, due to holidays and illness, held Witney on 3 of the 4 Rinks until the last quarter of the game but faded badly to lose by 46 shots overall.
The Mid-week team had a good win on Friday evening against visitors Wingrave. The overall score was Thame 73 to Wingrave's 60 shots, due in whole to Thame's top rink of Marthie Du Preez, Trevor Copley and George Andrews who won by 19 shots. On Saturday Thame men were soundly beaten by the visiting Adderbury team losing by 30 shots over the 4 rinks.
Success however for the Sunday Mixed match at Henley where Thame triumphed due mainly to the Top Rink of Maire Duncan, Jill Jenner, Trevor Copley and skip Bill Giles who won by the 11 clear shots that separated the two teams.
