Thame Bowls Club started the week in blustery, wet conditions with their mixed game against Oxford City & County being abandoned after just 12 ends. Thame were winning on 2 rinks and losing on 2, with the other rink tied when play finished. Top rink for Thame Alfred Jochum, Simon Bell and Barbara Waters.
Thame Men's league team had a very close match against a strong Adderbury team on Thursday losing by just one shot, 78 to 77. Thame's only winning rink was skipped by Andy Walker.
Thame Men got back to winning ways with a 17 shot victory at Tilehurst (Reading) on Saturday. Thame won on 3 of the 5 rinks with two of Thame's rinks winning by 13 shots each and another tied. Top rink skips were Bill Giles (28-15) and Vic Brooks (22-9).
Another win for Thame on Sunday when a mixed team beat visitors Oxford University Press by 6 shots. Top rink for Thame was skipped by Captain Ron Duncan ably assisted by Carol Boyland and Hazell Westcott, winning 23 shots to 9.
