Thame Bowls Club members on tour in 2009...
Another busy week for Thame Bowls Club began with a narrow defeat for the mid-week team against visitors Aston Clinton. Thame's 2 winning rinks were skipped by Captain Barbara Waters and Brad Liddle.
Thame Men's League team lost in their away match at Charlbury on Thursday and things didn't improve on Friday night when they travelled to South Oxford for the second leg of the annual Norfolk Cup Challenge when they lost to a much stronger South team. Thame's only success was the rink of John Ashfield, Bill Sandifer, Casper Du Preez and skip Andy Walker.

Saturday saw a very close encounter at Thame's green with visitors Ladygate (Ruislip) bringing 2 Rinks of Ladies and 4 Rinks of Men for the annual fixture. The Thame Ladies won on both of their Rinks and the overall result was a draw, each team scoring 108 shots. Top Ladies for Thame were Carol Boyland, Shirley Foster and skip Maxine Plested.
Sunday's 5 Triples Mixed game at home to Princes Risborough brought Thame a much needed success over their local rivals, winning on 3 of the 5 Rinks by 17 shots overall. Top Thame Rink was that of Christine Liddle, Caroline Walker and skip Andy Walker who won by 18 shots.
