Thame Bowls Club members on tour in 2009...
An extremely busy week for Thame Bowls Club began with a win for Thame Ladies over South Oxford winning on 3 of the 4 rinks by 26 shots overall. Top Rink for Thame was that of Frances Goodyear, Margaret Boynton & skip Doreen Penn.
 
Then followed two mid-week Mixed games at Kidlington and Loudwater where Thame won by 12 shots and 21 shots respectively. Top Rinks Dave Powell, Jim Tite and Richard Plested at Kidlington and Alfred Jochum, Jim Tite and Maxine Plested at Loudwater.
 
Thame men lost their Thursday League match against high-flying Witney Mills by just six shots. On Saturday a Mixed team travelled to South Oxford and were beaten by 16 shots overall – top rink for Thame was Sharon Heafey, Sheila Hawes, Leonard Grimshaw and skip Will Hawes who won by 7 shots.
 
Sunday saw a 6 Rinks Mixed game at Thame who welcomed visitors Wendover. Thame proved far two strong winning on all six rinks by a massive 66 shots - 132 to 66. Top Rink for Thame was Jill Brooks, Jackie Emberson, Bill Sandifer and skip Bill Giles who won by 18 shots.
