Another busy week at Thame Bowls Club began with the Thame Ladies travelling to Watlington and winning by 15 shots overall. Big winners for Thame were Viv Jones, Maire Duncan and Marthie Du Preez who won by 18 shots.
On Wednesday a full coach load of members travelled to Cheltenham for the annual 10 Rinks Match. In a close fought encounter, Thame won on 6 of the 10 Rinks but narrowly lost by 11 shots overall. Full details on Club website.
Thame Men suffered another League defeat on Thursday at Oxford Bowls losing on 3 of the 4 Rinks.
On Saturday, 12 Thame Ladies competed for the Coronation Cup which was won by Caroline Walker who beat Jill Brooks in the final by 7 shots to 3.
The week finished with another big win for Thame's Sunday Mixed team against visitors Flackwell Heath. This time Thame notched up 167 shots against 84 with the highest winning rink comprising of Maureen Giles, Frances Goodyear, Trevor Copley and skip Vic Brooks winning 41 - 1
