Hello All - I hope you are all emerging safely from your Winter hibernation.  Only just over 4 weeks before the new season gets under way, so I thought I would mention a few things that are on the horizon.
SATURDAY APRIL 12TH - WORK PARTY 9am -  PLEASE COME ALONG AND HELP TO COMPLETE ALL THE JOBS THAT ARE NECESSARY BEFORE THE GREEN OPENS.  Last year there were over 20 volunteers and all work was done in just two hours!   Many hands make light work, so Les Canfield looks forward to seeing you all there. Les can't be expected to do all of these jobs on his own, so please make a note in your diary NOW to be there. Jobs include: tidying edges of green, weeding area in front of clubhouse, chairs/benches/tables to be put outside and wiped clean, all Sponsor Boards to be cleaned and put in place, and general tidying up.  In this 90th Anniversary Year let's aim to make Thame Bowls Club a club to be proud of and show that we care.
SATURDAY APRIL 19TH - OPENING DAY COMPETITION STARTING 1.30pm.  A Competition is to be arranged for this day, and a list is on the Notice Board for names to be added to enter this competition. Full details of the format will be published shortly on the notice board. There will be bacon and sausage butties ("a la Friday League") included in the £2 entry fee with more available to purchase at £1 each, and a cash prize draw.
Finally, sheets are up for the first games of the season, so please get your names down early to avoid disappointment. The first team selections will be made by the various captains quite soon - don't delay - add your name today..

I look forward to the season with great optimism - let's make this special year a year to remember. Please support all team captains and do your bit to make the running of Thame Bowls Club as smooth as possible.
