Proposition 3:
It has been proposed that the rules for the Men’s Jubilee Handicap singles competition are refined with respect to treatment of the player’s handicaps. Current rules state that the full handicap is added to the nominal target total of 21 shots – meaning a match between two high handicap players has to be played with both needing to get to 27 points. The recommendation is that the rule is amended so that the net difference in handicap only needs to be added to the targeted winning total. This will still give the lower handicap player the advantage the handicap is designed to achieve, but will not unnecessarily over-lengthen all of the games.
