Thame Bowls Club has started a remarkable process that may grow into a notable feature in the world of flat green bowling.
On the 4th September 2016, Thame Bowls Club hosted the first ever Oxfordshire Blind Bowling Competition event. The organisers were the Thame Lions Club assited by Bill Giles OBE and the Committee of Thame Bowls Club.
The success of this event has now aroused attention on Bowls International level and Foxhill Indoor Bowls Club in Aylesbury have requested a friendly match against our visually impaired bowling friends.
Bill Giles extended his sincere thanks to all the Thame Bowls Club members that helped to make this historic day such a great success; in Bill's own words in an email to club members:
"As you can see from the e-mails below it was so successful Bowls International are interested and Foxhill want to play them this winter. Look what you’ve started!!"
